We’ve seen it published a lot lately; diabetes, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol, all on the rise. And for the most part, these increases seem to be affecting certain parts of the population. As a result of this increase, we can also see an increase in the numbers of statin drugs being prescribed. This class of drugs is prescribed in the hopes of lowering cholesterol levels, lowering high blood pressure and to increase insulin production.

From a scientific perspective, yeast overgrowth is directly related to pancreatitis. - As much as possible, eliminate all yeast intakes. It is possible that you are consuming yeast and may not realize it. It’s easy to determine that yeast is in baked goods, like many types of bread. However, there are yeast free breads and baked goods, such as; tortillas, muffins, and biscuits. Yeast is also hiding in chocolate, some chicken broths, and in many other processed foods. Over the past decade, the use of yeast has increased as it is not only being used as a leavening agent, but also as a flavor enhancer and an emulsifier. More reason to read those labels!
