Can fasting slow aging?


Fasting is the practice of abstaining from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance. Cesar Chavez fasted for rights and some fast for their beliefs. While fasting is generally recognized as a religious practice, it is also recommended to slow aging. Fasting weekly, monthly, or seasonally for even as little as 24 hours can assist the body in repairing tissue, regeneration, and maintaining a youthful vitality.

Aging is directly tied to what you consume, how much you consume, and the quality of the food. The scientific community has observed that reducing the amount of food eaten can add 10 – 15 years to one’s life.  Occasional fasting removes the burden of extraneous matter off the system.
